Some people over 40 have never married. Some are divorced, some widowed, some have children and some do not. That variety is normal. What matters is being honest about your story and curious about theirs.

Be clear about the life you want

At this stage, practical questions matter early. Would you move cities? Do you want to live together or keep separate homes for a while? How involved are your children, or your parents? Knowing your own answers makes it easier to spot someone whose answers fit.

Photos and profile

Use a recent, clear photo that looks like you today, not ten years ago. Write a few lines about how you spend your weekends and what you value in a partner. Simple and warm works better than impressive.

Take your time

There is no rush. A few weeks of good conversation before meeting is fine. When you do meet, choose a public place in the daytime and let someone know where you are.
